March on Richmond for Jobs and Freedom
Fifty years ago this month, a rally, a speech, and a movement made history. But the dream has yet to be realized in cities like Richmond.
Over the past five decades, African Americans have secured personal liberties, but not economic justice in Virginia, and much of the South. So, on Saturday, August 31, thousands will gather again, this time in Virginia’s capitol, to stand up for jobs, for justice, and economic opportunities for all.
Join the Richmond NAACP, A. Philip Randolph Institute, the Urban League of Greater Richmond, and Living the Dream, Inc. in the March on Richmond for Jobs and Freedom.
Every man and woman deserves a job with a living wage, and access to education and training for their children to pursue a career path of their choosing. Together, we can erase unemployment from our city by creating a 21st century workforce that will fill thousands of positions every year and make R Richmond attractive to new businesses.
March with us as we challenge our city government, our local businesses, our communities and ourselves to make a commitment to Richmond’s future.
